Is this a laptop that you can't put a floppy drive on?  If it's
not then the best approach is to spring for the floppy drive. that
or get someone to burn the ISO install image onto a CD for you and
install from that.  

Get a good backup of everything that is important (/etc, /var, /home)
Then re-install from scratch and recover from backup as needed.
