It would freeze after printing out the line Mounting root from ufs:/dev/ad0s2a I backed up to stable from 2003.10.06.00.00.00, and my laptop now boots fine again. I'll try to to narrow this down further, but a recent commit seems to have broken stable for me, with either my custom kernel or GENERIC. My dmesg is below. Thanks.
