If you are talking about NICs. Nowadays www.ieee.org keeps the list of Ethernet vendor codes. The first 3 bytes of an Ethernet MAC address designate the manufacturer/vendor. I downloaded it a few weeks ago (oui.txt). It was not that easy to find on their site. If you want I can email the list to you. Maybe somebody else knows how to get hold of PNP vendor numbers.
