Assuming by connect you mean share files, Samba is probably your best bet.
It allows the bsd machine to show up in network neighbourhood on the windows
box and for you to mount drives of the bsd box etc in windows. Using
sharity-light you can then mount drives from your windows box on the bsd one
or use smbclient to upload/download files (which has a simular interface to
ftp). Both are available in the ports collection. There is also an excelent
O'Reilly book on the subject which is free to download/read online in html
and pdf format - http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/samba/
