I have a ComPaq Proliant 2500 that has the following strangeness and I was curious if anyone had a hint as to how to fix either. I guess I'm a little more interested in getting the drives recognized under 5.0 than I am in getting the printer to work under 4.8 :-) TIA This is boot -v FreeBSD 5.0rc3 generic kernel ppc0: parallel port found at 0x3bc ppc0: using extended I/O port range ppc0: SPP ppc0: <Parallel port> at port 0x3bc-0x3c3 irq 7 on isa0 ppc0: Generic chipset (NIBBLE-only) in COMPATIBLE mode plip0: <PLIP network interface> on ppbus0 lp0: bpf attached lpt0: <Printer> on ppbus0 lpt0: Interrupt-driven port ppi0: <Parallel I/O> on ppbus0 Same machine boot -v FreeBSD 4.8 generic kernel ppc0: parallel port found at 0x3bc ppc0: cannot reserve I/O port range ppc0: <Parallel port> failed to probe at port 0x3bc-0x3c3 irq 7 on isa0 or the scsi problem on FreeBSD 5.0 This is boot -v FreeBSD 5.0rc3 generic kernel Waiting 15 seconds for SCSI devices to settle (noperiph:sym0:0:-1:-1): SCSI BUS reset delivered.
