I (think I) validated this by installing the old gucharmap-gnome-0.6.0, pkg_remove'd it, and tried to install it. The second install attempt worked. The first failed because of the missing directory. I'll shut up and see if anyone else sees this. - Mike H. Right, but what I'm saying is that when I ran im-module-file, it returned /usr/X11R6/etc/gtk-2.0/gtk.immodules. I was thinking that if that file didn't exist, im-module-file might return something else. I don't know why you're seeing what you're seeing.
