As far as I know, there is nothing comparable to Autodesk's Autocad or Imsisoft's Turbocad for Windows. On the other hand: If you are happy with a 2D-CAD - just to produce precise drawings for a publication or a web-site - and if you are not afraid of working with Postscript-files and its converting-tools, you can get qcad (www.qcad.org) for Linux (and BSD). qcad is absolutely free and when I was a student (4 years ago) I would have loved to have it.
