The Linux installation of these PowerEdge servers does come with a binary-only driver (perhaps written by Adaptec?) so I'm guessing they released it to somebody. I had suspected it wasn't related to the AMI designs as it couldn't find any correspondance between it and the AMI descriptions. Aren't Adaptec usually a bit more cooperative? Thanks for the info anyway. > > Will anyone comment on FreeBSD support for the PERC 3/Si RAID > > controller supplied with the Dell PowerEdge 2450. > > (http://www.dell.com/html/us/compt/pedge/perc_si_dc.htm) > > It's an Adaptec design, and unless and until Adaptec release details on > the programming interface support is not going to happen. > > Apart from the product name, and one of the chips involved, it bears no > resemblance to the AMI-derived members of the PERC family. > > -- > \\ Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. \\ Mike Smith > \\ Tell him he should learn how to fish himself, \\ msmith@freebsd.org > \\ and he'll hate you for a lifetime. \\ msmith@cdrom.com > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hardware" in the body of the message
