Since I don't use LDAP, I didn't know about these knobs.  I'll try to 
fashion a patch similar to how the mysql version is selected.  Thanks 
for bringing it to my attention.

As a stop-gap, please commit the adjusted patch which fixes both 
OpenLDAP 2.0 and 2.1.  Thanks.
