There was already code to do this, but slightly at the wrong location
(a few lines too low).  Have a look at the `od' driver from -current
(make a side-by-side comparision), the spinup code does work there.
I'm using it all the time (the `od' driver has an option to spindown
the drive after unmounting the filesystem).
