The easiest way to do aync. request is using /dev/fwmem0. There are some examples in /sys/dev/firewire/00REAME using with ps, dmesg and so on. (sysctl node has changeg to 'hw.firewire.fwmem.eui64_{hi,lo}) To test write request, dcons/fwchat is an interesting application.
