I am trying to install NetBSD on my 340. So far I have not managed to get SYS_INIT to work from the tape, and using the theory that I might have nade the tape incorectly, I am trying to install SYS_INIT using rbootd. I looked at rbootd on my HP 400runing as a cluster server, and it looked to tied into the cluster stuff to be usefuel. So I am trying to do it from a FreeBSD machine. I have placed the folowing in /etc/rbood.conf: # # ethernet addr boot file(s) comments # # 08:00:09:0:66:ad SYSHPBSD # snake (4.3BSD) 08:00:09:04:b2:01 SYS_INST I have placed the ungized version of SYS_INIT in /usr/mdec/rbootd. I then run rbootd as /usr/libexec/rbootd -d Here are the messages that I get when I power on the 340: << 22:44:41.497330 Addr: 08:00:09:04:b2:01 Intf: ed0 802.2 LLC: DSAP:f8 SSAP:f8 CTRL:3 HP Ext: DXSAP:806 SXSAP:906 Boot Request: (Send Server ID) RetCode:0 SeqNo:0 SessID:ffff Vers:512 Machine Type: HPS300 File Name (0): <> >>> 22:44:41.501127 Addr: 08:00:09:04:b2:01 Intf: ed0 802.2 LLC: DSAP:f8 SSAP:f8 CTRL:3 HP Ext: DXSAP:609 SXSAP:608 Boot Reply: RetCode:0 SeqNo:0 SessID:0 Vers:2 File Name (5): <koala> Could anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong here? BTW I am getting the following message in syslog: Apr 10 22:39:32 koala.fas.com rbootd[7464]: bpf: can't add mcast addr (Invalid a rgument), setting promiscuous mode -- Stan Brown stanb@netcom.com 770-996-6955 Factory Automation Systems Atlanta Ga. -- Look, look, see Windows 95.
