cant find anything solid on this from searching the archives. Maybe
someone can shed some light on this?

trying to utilize linproc for vmware.

I see consistant lockups/freezes when kernel module is loaded. Freezes
takes about 15-30 seconds to occur once loaded and used. ANY use of system
causes lockup once module is loaded and mounted. CVSup'd a few weeks back
but have not done so lately.

system details
--------------
intel n440bx mobo
dual 500mhz p2's
512meg ram

FreeBSD atlantis.403forbidden.net 4.3-STABLE FreeBSD 4.3-STABLE #3: Sat
Aug 4 15:34:55 EDT 2001
root@atlantis.403forbidden.net:/usr/src/sys/compile/ATLANTIS i386

/etc/fstab looks like
linproc /compat/linux/proc linprocfs rw 0 0

nothing amiss in boot messages
when lockup occurs nothing is reported on console, just a hard lockup.

any ideas?
