When arguing againt the political dolts, I can't agree more =) As for the crime, it really all depends upon where you go. There are WAYYY more nicer places in DC than you'd actually believe (I only found this out during recent visits there in the past 5 years). Anyway, one of the safest places in the country is actually on the capitol mall. Why? It's crawling with more undercover secret service than you can shake a stick at.
