Hello all, I can't figure this out on my own, hence mailing this list. I really don't know what it can be. I tried OSS lkm driver with x11apm, xaudio, mpg123 and it crashed. Now the system crashes with Luigi's PnP drivers. AFAIK, this is not driver or mp3 player fault. What else then can it be? System is PPro with 64MB of RAM. Crashes occur running apps both as user and root anywhere between 10 seconds to a minute after playing the mp3. Here is relevant dmesg with PnP drivers in the kernel: Probing for PnP devices: CSN 1 Vendor ID: CTL0026 [0x26008c0e] Serial 0x1007caf2 pcm1 (SB16pnp <SB16 PnP> sn 0x1007caf2) at 0x220 irq 5 drq 1 flags 0x15 id 8 CSN 2 Vendor ID: USR0011 [0x11007256] Serial 0x03300823 % cat /dev/sndstat FreeBSD Audio Driver (980215) Jul 12 1998 17:22:06 Installed devices: pcm1: <SoundBlaster 16 4.13> at 0x220 irq 5 dma 1:5 sequencer1: <???> at 0x388 (not functional) Can this really be hardware?!?! The card is Sound Blaster 16 (or so does Gateway's manual say). Any hints are welcom.
