I've got a couple of quick questions about setting up gnome2. I've built gnome2 from ports. However, startx starts up a rather bland windowing environment that will not open a display. It gives the error: $ xmgrace Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server Xlib: No protocol specified Can't open display Failed initializing GUI, exiting $ So here are my questions: 1) does gnome2 just need me to create a .xinitrc file with 'exec gnome-session' in it to start? or am I missing something else? 2) when I try and build gnome2-fifth-toe and evolution, I get the error: ===> Extracting for db3-3.3.11,1 >> Checksum OK for bdb/db-3.3.11.tar.gz. >> Checksum mismatch for bdb/patch.3.3.11.1. >> Checksum OK for bdb/patch.3.3.11.2. Make sure the Makefile and distinfo file (/usr/ports/databases/db3/distinfo) are up to date. If you are absolutely sure you want to override this check, type "make NO_CHECKSUM=yes [other args]". *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/databases/db3. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/devel/gconf. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/palm/gnomepilot. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/palm/gnomepilot-conduits. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/mail/evoluti Should I build db3 first?
