Yes, it is x86-centric. the multiplatform parts are some loader's components and kernel init starting from mi_startup(), so almost everything in the article is x86-specific. But the overall procedure is the same for all platforms, I guess, i mean bios(firmware)->boot0->boot2->loader->kernel entry.
