Highly unlikely. This project has been dead for quite a while and the
Github repository isn't official. I don't know why anyone would
develop it without the backend servers functioning, as it is pretty
useless without them. The backend is closed source, proprietary, and
discontinued and I doubt it will make a return. Many projects have
turned to AcoustID for audio fingerprinting (aka chromaprint), which
is what the MusicBrainz servers use now instead of MusicDNS.

Yep, it's dead and I have no problem deprecating and removing libofa.
The technology has changed hands a few times, and the service has been
discontinued. As far as I can see, only audio/amarok-kde4 and
audio/audio/xmms2 depend on libofa and the functionality can easily be
disabled in both ports. The library itself doesn't contact the dead
servers so there is no real harm in it. However, the applications
using it may do so and it would probably be in good security interest
to keep them from contacting an untrusted domain.
