I have a laptop which gets it's IP via dhcp. When I try to ssh into a server on my local network the server drops the connection. If I try from a machine with a static IP it works fine. My hosts.allow has ALL : ALL : allow as the first line. What is forcing the ssh to drop the connection from the dhcp'd laptop? The line from my messages looks like: Jun 10 15:27:24 truman sshd[3989]: Connection from 192.168.1.246 denied. Authentication as user x was attempted.
