I have installed vmware2 from an updated ports tree and VMware says Could not open /dev/vmnet1: device not configured Failed to configure ethernet0 I don't know what data would be useful to add, some things: o I have not installed any other vmware-related port. o While compiling the port I answered "no" to the question about "netgraph bridged" (or something close) because I read somewhere in the net that answering "yes" there just didn't worked in FreeBSD. o In Settings -> Configuration Editor -> Ethernet Adapters the first entry reads Host-only. o I have loaded just one module, namely, vmware_up.ko. There is another .ko file named vmware_smp.ko that kldload says has bad format (?). o $ ifconfig -a xl0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet6 fe80::250:daff:fe49:d4c%xl0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x1 inet 172.16.1.50 netmask 0xffff0000 broadcast 172.16.255.255 ether 00:50:da:49:0d:4c media: Ethernet autoselect (100baseTX) status: active lp0: flags=8810<POINTOPOINT,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 lo0: flags=8049<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 16384 inet6 ::1 prefixlen 128 inet6 fe80::1%lo0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x3 inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000 ppp0: flags=8010<POINTOPOINT,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 sl0: flags=c010<POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 faith0: flags=8000<MULTICAST> mtu 1500 Any hints? -- fxn To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
