I have installed vmware2 from an updated ports tree and VMware says
Could not open /dev/vmnet1: device not configured
Failed to configure ethernet0
I don't know what data would be useful to add, some things:
o I have not installed any other vmware-related port.
o While compiling the port I answered "no" to the question about
"netgraph bridged" (or something close) because I read somewhere in the
net that answering "yes" there just didn't worked in FreeBSD.
o In Settings -> Configuration Editor -> Ethernet Adapters the first
entry reads Host-only.
o I have loaded just one module, namely, vmware_up.ko. There is another
.ko file named vmware_smp.ko that kldload says has bad format (?).
o $ ifconfig -a
xl0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500

Any hints?
