Brand" Subject: cdrecord AND ide Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG i have an ATAPI-IDE CD-RW drive and cdrecord 1.8. all the docs indicate writing through a SCSI port is the way it was designed to work. but i found references to a configuration option that makes an IDE device operate as if it were a SCSI device thus allowing the program to be used in the IDE environment. i have a hard drive, (actually two using RAID-1 on a DPT SmartCache-IV controller,) connected via SCSI. CDRECORD -scanbus finds that resource just fine. i've spent a few hours attempting to fool the program into working. now i feel like a fool. is is possible to make my IDE drive work with CDRECORD? thanks, kim To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
