From: Michael Forde To: bug-followup@FreeBSD.org, vkushnir@i.kiev.ua Cc: Subject: Re: kern/101734: [ata] -CURRENT cannot see SATA drive on ASUS A8N-SLI (nForce 4) Date: Sun, 10 May 2009 10:35:50 -0400 --PEIAKu/WMn1b1Hv9 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I believe I have encountered a similar problem with the i386 build of FreeBSD 7.2-RELEASE on the A8N32-SLI deluxe when using SATA disks. The boot loader is found and prompts me to press F1 for FreeBSD or F5 for Drive 1.=20 After Pressing F1, I see a '-' quickly replaced by '/' and then the boot loader stops. There is no further disk activity and the system never loads.=20 I reverted back to FreeBSD 6.4 on an IDE disk. Under this build, the secondary (SATA) disk is recognized. =20 Please let me know if there are any steps I can take to provide you with more helpful information than this "it don't work" meesage. --=20 M.
