Hi, Just some simple questions based on the following: 1) nslookup www.freebsd.org Non-authoritative answer: Name: freefall.FreeBSD.org Address: 204.216.27.18 Aliases: www.freebsd.org 2) nslookup freefall.cdrom.com Name: freefall.cdrom.com Addresses: 204.216.27.18, 204.216.27.18 Aliases: freefall.cdrom.com 3) nslookup 204.216.27.18 Name: freefall.FreeBSD.ORG Address: 204.216.27.18 4) nslookup www.cdrom.com Non-authoritative answer: Name: wcarchive.cdrom.com Address: 165.113.58.253 Aliases: www.cdrom.com Is freebsd.org and cdrom.com the same machine with 2 NICs ? Also, in 2) above, why is freefall.cdrom.com a name as well as an alias at the same time, and it returns 2 same IP address for it too, why is that ? Is freefall.cdrom.com an alias from freebsd.org or is it a proper name record in cdrom.com zone ? How are the above configured in actuality ? Thanks in advance.
