Hello all,

How are you doing?

I am in the process of installing a BSD box to do a
NAT for one of our internal networks.

this box will run ( besids NAT ) a firewall and a
trafic shaper of some kind.

My questions are:

1 - what would be the advantages / disadvantages of
having OpenBSD or FreeBSD?

2 - what would be the advantages / disadvantages of
having IPF or IPFW

3 - Can I run the dummynet on IPF?

4 - Is there any other trafic shaper that you happen
to know about? is it any good?

5 - If you could the job, how would you do it? ( NT,
Linux, Solaris, Tru64 whatever ) and why?

Thank you for you time !

best,

phelip
