Hi,
My doubt is this. In case a user process is specifying the source & destination address. Whether any check is performed on the source address like,
a) address is present on which interface?
b) address is already formed?
c) Scope of source & destination address are correct?

I checked the code in rip6_output() i found a call to a function to select the source address. Whether any such thing is performed for the addresses sent by the TCP & UDP layers?

Assume that a user has opened a socket & has specifed the source & destination address. If the user has specified the source address to be of a different scope compared to the destination ( consider the cases of heigher scope or lower scope) any error message is loged?

Kindly reply.
regards
ravi prasad
