Hello there, I was wondering if promiscious mode (enabled by default in tcpdump) is actually needed or in ANY way helpful when jsut trying to monitor traffic to/from the local machine? Also, I have noticed I am picking up a tiny bit of traffic that is supposed to go to other DSL customers in my neighbourhood, is that normal with promiscious mode?
