Not much was happening in the machine that time. This never even happened with make buildworld or JDK compilation on a summer noon. Now, ACPI reports temperatures such as 248C. Is this possible at all? It's a PIII/400 Mhz. The reslut is is that *sometimes* I cæn get to boot fully, but the message appears n about two minutes of uptime and the machione shuts down forsibly. Or it "stops" during the boot, suspending (when I press the ON button again, it follows from where it stops). So, what really happened? Did my fan break, so that it is not cooling the CPU properly? When I take the kbd away and see the inside while booting, the fan seems to be running OK? Or did my ACPI go crazy and thinks (wrongly) that the temperature is so high, forcing fbsd to shut down? Thanks gor any hints Jan
