Of course it can be fixed, but probably neither of us care enough to fix it. Its probably quite simply, but ET, as policy, doesn't repair OS "deflugalties" because we'd never get anything done if we did. There is no good reason why a NULL header should affect protocol filtering. Because our driver is multiprotocol and can be configured on the fly, its difficult to assign a specific encapsulation because it can change. however, if the serial encaps were supported (ie, frame relay, ppp and cisco hdlc), we could set these dynamically with a little work.
