I believe in at least 2.0.5, this didn't happen. I am using gcc 2.7.2.1, gdb 4.15.1, and emacs 19.34.2 (with X toolkit), all obtained from ftp.cdrom.com and built by extracting them, typing 'configure' and then 'make'. (Except for gcc, which was a full 3-stage build; follow the INSTALL instructions). This toolset works flawlessly. I had problems with the emacs on the 2.1.5 cdrom, and noted it was not completely up-to-date, so upgraded everything as of about mid-september. -- "Where am I, and what am I doing in this handbasket?"
