Well, my PC164 is running off a Tekram DC-390F (53C875). Some time ago there was a thread on the NetBSD list, where somebody's SRM would not recognize a DC-390F. A closer comparison revealed that mine is PCB revision 2.2, while the three ones he bought were all 3.0. > I am able to use "895" controllers (LSI and Tekram) in both > PWS and 164LX. Those are slightly newer boxes with slightly newer SRM code, which implies that they support some newer hardware than the PC164 SRM does. We've been through this discussion before. My PC164 would not recognize a Tekram DC-390U2W (53C895), but Bernd Walter has a no-name '895-based card that is recognized. I still may have the output of pciconf(8) somewhere, which was different for those cards. Yes, a variety of NCR/Symbios/LSI cards are supported by SRM. Yes, these cards are a good choice. However, I do take issue with your previous claim that "almost any NCR/Symbios/LSI controller" will be recognized. -- Christian "naddy" Weisgerber naddy@mips.inka.de To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-alpha" in the body of the message
