Removing CVSup access to -current is not something I'd like to do; it is just something I noted as the only reasonably effective measure I can see (beyond moderating more of the lists). I am positive that it would reduce the noise somehwat; I don't know whether it would be worthwhile. In effect, what it would do is increase the cost of using -current by somewhat less than $15 (450MB of diskspace). For those that are serious about running -current, I don't really think this should be a problem if announced a suitable amount of time in advance (doing this overnight would be nasty, of course) - OTOH, I already CVSup the repository, so it is difficult for me to judge.
