You can redefine the console to go to one of your com ports.  Then get
converters to put on said com port that converts from 9-pin to Twisted Pair
and run this to a patch panel.  Then take a vt100 terminal with the same
type of converter on it that you can plug in to whatever connection on said
patch panel you want.

This should solve your problem and is a cheaper solution than $350 for every
8 machines.  The added benefit is it's scalable.
