Gpsd will communicate properly with my Delorme Earthmate and translate the binary output. When ntpd 4.2.4p7 is started, gpsd output stops and no further gps output is gathered. /etc/ntp.conf: server 127.127.1.0 minpoll 9 maxpoll 9 fudge 127.127.1.0 stratum 10 server 127.127.31.0 prefer server timex.peachnet.edu noselect driftfile /var/db/ntp.drift statsdir /var/log/ntp/ filegen clockstats file clockstats type day enable filegen peerstats file peerstats type day enable filegen loopstats file loopstats type day enable statistics clockstats peerstats loopstats logfile /var/log/ntp/messages The following driver types are compiled into this gpsd instance: Generic NMEA Ashtech Delorme TripMate Delorme EarthMate (pre-2003, Zodiac chipset) Furuno Electric GH-79L4 MKT-3301 AIVDM EverMore binary iTalk binary Navcom binary SiRF binary SuperStarII binary Trimble TSIP uBlox UBX binary Zodiac binary >How-To-Repeat: 1. Start gpsd 2.39 and connect to the gpsd telnet server, issue command R to see raw (NMEA) data. 2. Start ntpd 3. Watch gpsd output stop. Further gpsd commands will yield X=0?
