OK, after my mozilla problems I burned down all X related software and remove /usr/X11R6 and started a rebuild. /usr/ports/x11/gnome2 fails installing /usr/ports/deskutils/gucharmap, but it gets far enough that if you restart the build it sails past it because, I assume, the file the Makefiles are checking for have been installed. The install fails as follows: ... gmake install-data-hook gmake[4]: Entering directory `/usr/ports/deskutils/gucharmap/work/gucharmap-1.2.0/gucharmap' LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/X11R6/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH GTK_PATH=$GTK_PATH:/usr/X11R6/lib/gtk-2.0 gtk-query-immodules-2.0 > `./im-module-file` ; cannot create /usr/X11R6/etc/gucharmap/gtk.immodules: directory nonexistent gmake[4]: *** [install-data-hook] Error 2 gmake[4]: Leaving directory `/usr/ports/deskutils/gucharmap/work/gucharmap-1.2.0/gucharmap' gmake[3]: *** [install-data-am] Error 2 gmake[3]: Leaving directory `/usr/ports/deskutils/gucharmap/work/gucharmap-1.2.0/gucharmap' gmake[2]: *** [install-am] Error 2 gmake[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/ports/deskutils/gucharmap/work/gucharmap-1.2.0/gucharmap' gmake[1]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1 gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/ports/deskutils/gucharmap/work/gucharmap-1.2.0/gucharmap' gmake: *** [install-recursive] Error 1 *** Error code 2 Stop in /usr/ports/deskutils/gucharmap.
