I was getting "device not configured" messages on trying mount. I did a bit of RTFM and concluded I was safe to do the above - but I want to avoid having to go through the painful task of booting a linux distro and getting an admin shell - difficult without so-called rescue disks (unlike FreeBSD). > once booted in to freebsd, > > mount_ext2fs /dev/da0s4 /mnt > > that should do the trick. > > if you install the multibooter, it should detect the ext2 > file system, and allow you to boot in to linux. That's what I thought would happen. But it's always as well to check. I'm away from the machine right now but I'll try this out on Monday.
