You are mixing issues here. pthread_attr_get_np() is used to get attribute of already created and running thread. pthread_attr_getstack() is supposed to get individual values of attribute only. There's no way to associate pthread_attr_t pointer with already existing attribute, except pthread_attr_get_np().
