Today, I decided to attempt to update my system to current from today. I tried two times, and oboth times the system froze in the middle. The first time I was not near the box, and came home to see nothing on the screen, key presses did nothing. THe second time something strange happened. The screen ahd a long prompt, but when I typed, nothing happened. THen, about 3 seconds later, it accepted my keystrkes that I had typed earlier, as if it was delaying processing them. It finally gave me the debugger screen it had dumped me to, and what I saw was the message "free vnode isnt". Any ideas on this? I am not going to attemp anoher world bill with this kernel until I know what is going on, or if someone wants more info. Here is my setup: Tyan Tomcat II Dual 120s oc to 133 64MB EDO 60ns RAM EIDE disks FreeBSD hope.winternet.com 3.0-CURRENT FreeBSD 3.0-CURRENT #0: Tue Aug 26 19:53:38 CDT 1997 root@hope.winternet.com:/usr/src/sys/compile/HOPE i386 Anyone else seen this? Should I try a new kernel? THanks! Kyle Mestery StorageTek's Network Systems Group 7600 Boone Ave. N., Brooklyn Park, MN 55428 mesteka@anubis.network.com, mestery@winternet.com
