I've decided that I should try to learn ipfw (using ipfilter at the moment) at least to get to use DUMMYNET. I'm tracking RELENG_4 (STABLE). Now, I'm not sure if it comes with ipfw1 or ipfw2 as default. Reading the man-page for ipfw(8) I get the impression that STABLE only uses ipfw1 by default and I'll have to enable ipfw2 by adding "IPFW2=TRUE" to /etc/make.conf and adding "options IPFW2" to the kernel config. But I can't find the option IPFW2 in the LINT kernel (which I thought was supposed to list all available options etc.) and I can't find anything regarding IPFW2 in /etc/defaults/make.conf So naturally I'm not sure what to believe - am I being misled / misinterpreting make.conf / LINT-kernel or is the man-page for ipfw(8) giving false information? -- Regards / Hilsen Eivind Olsen To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
