If you're talking about using 3rd party applications like apache, mutt, etc, check out: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/ports-using.html If you're talking about building FreeBSD from sources, check out: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/cutting-edge.html The build processes described in the latter section also applies to the sources supplied on a particular snapshot.
