Subject: ccd - Inappropriate file type?

I'm trying to get a ccd set up on several SCSI drives under FreeBSD
2.1.5-RELEASE. After compiling ccd support into the kernel and using
MAKEDEV to create the appropriate /dev files, though, something seems to
be wrong with the device files. I try this:

# ccdconfig -c ccd0 16 none /dev/sd1c /dev/sd2c

and get this back:

ccdconfig: ioctl (CCDIOCSET): /dev/ccd0c: Inappropriate file type or format

If anyone has thoughts on what might be causing this or (better yet) how
to correct it, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jordyn
