No need for a boot floppy, you can always use /stand/sysinstall. (This didn't work very well in earlier releases however.) ISTR that Hellmuth Michaelis once wrote a tool that should do what you're asking for. He has probably dropped it on freefall's incoming. Ask him at hm@kts.org. (Somebody should perhaps make it an official `port' or something.
