Subject: emacs between FreeBSD boxes

Hello,

I'm having a problem using emacs between FreeBSD systems.

My workstation is a 4.3-RC system. The servers are 4.2-stable. The
terminal is set to "xterm" everywhere.

When I ssh in to another system and try to use emacs, the delete key
prints a tilde (~).

I have absolutely no idea about where to start looking. I'm presuming
somewhere in the terminal settings?

I use ssh and emacs between all the other servers, and my laptop and
the servers, all the time... it's just on the workstation with the 21"
monitor. Of course. :)

Thanks for any suggestions,
Michael
