What is really bad is that is what is in the ppp.conf.sample. If 120 is an unrealistic drop time, then the sample should have 300 in it. I consider non-realistic values in a sample as random numbers and I don't have much tolerance for samples made up from random numbers. I have hit a temporary impass with NT's NAT and have been giving serious consideration to switching to using my FreeBSD system to supply Internet services to my home network. It is little things like this that keep me from spending time on the effort. I figure that I can find out what is wrong with my NT system faster than I can find the little glitches that would make FreeBSD be a drop in replacement.
