Hello: I have a Compaq Proliant 1600 with 512 Mb RAM and a dual Pentium III 733. I'm using 4.1-RELEASE, which works OK on 1 processor. Booting dual proc. with: options SMP # Symmetric MultiProcessor Kernel options APIC_IO # Symmetric (APIC) I/O # Optionally these may need tweaked, (defaults shown): options NCPU=2 # number of CPUs options NBUS=4 # number of busses options NAPIC=1 # number of IO APICs options NINTR=43 # number of INTs gets me: Programming 35 pins in IOAPIC #0 IOAPIC #0 intpin 2 -> irq 0 IOAPIC #0 intpin 24 -> irq 16 IOAPIC #0 intpin 35 -> irq 2 and it hangs there. NITR=43 was suggested by the kernel at boot time, but I'm not sure what NAPIC and NBUS should be. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Fernando P.
