Please add info about the FreeBSD release number, 2.2.7, 2.2.8, 3.0. Also add info about yer laptop because if it used the NeoMagic chipset you might have to upgrade to XFree86 3.3.3 to make correct use of the chipset. Also, have ye set the PATH correctly in yer .profile?
