I did. Looking for "named AND uid AND exited AND signal 6" yields nothing (searching -questions and -stable). Neither does looking for anything mentioning "INSIST". So what's the answer? If it is "Upgrade to BIND 8.2.3", I'm already running that - of course. Looking through the code, I can't really envision a situation where the amount of milliseconds is either negative or adds up to more than one second.
