>There has been some discussion about the validity of the NEdit >authors' position on stability,=20 FYI, it is not at all about the "NEdit's author's position". OM 2.2.2 is *buggy*. See for example http://www.suse.de/de/private/products/suse_linux/prof/packages_professiona= l/openmotif21-libs.html This Motif version is needed by Oracle (e.g. Forms&Reports), the newer 2.2.x Motif does not work and is not certified with Oracle. >however I suggest this patch independently of this argument for the >simple reason that the port fails to install by default. See the >freebsd-ports archive for details. An I would suggest at least to update to OM 2.2.3, which is a bugfix release fixing among many other things also the bug in the tooltip code that crashed not only nedit (where using tooltips wasn't necessary=20 at all to get crashed, btw). -- J=F6rg
