The following reply was made to PR ports/167172; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Michael Scheidell <scheidell@FreeBSD.org> To: <bug-followup@FreeBSD.org> Cc: Subject: Re: ports/167172: x11/kde4 will not compile due to libxine trying to use missing library libxcb-atom.la Date: Sun, 22 Apr 2012 18:30:52 -0400 x11/kde4 actually does not compile anything. It is just a meta port to bring in lots of slave ports. If you take a look at the Makefile, you will see lots of 'RUN_DEPENDS', which would call in and force to compile the components. One of these components has failed, and if you identify this component, maybe someone can help you. If you have questions, you can join and post to email list 'freebsd-ports'. update your ports tree first, make sure you don't have any dependencies that need to be recompiled first. Look at /usr/ports/UPDATING to make sure you follow instructions carefully. Once you identify the actual component that is not compiling, please open a new pr. -- Michael Scheidell, CTO >*| * SECNAP Network Security Corporation d: +1.561.948.2259 w: http://people.freebsd.org/~scheidell
