	I'll be darned!  I'll give it a try, thanks.  A last question is:
	will new .ttf fon't be seen, system-wide, if I dump theminto
	/usr/local/lib/X11.../TTF?  I have a port, enscriptfonts (?)
	that I uupdated a couple years ago.  Years of selecting, culling,
	etc, the best fonts that I liked.  They are all TTF (IIRC).  
	I've got several more now and would port  it to x11-fonts if
	adding then to the .../TTF  directory.

	Just a thought.

	PS:  Most of these are standard; to be used;serif, sans-serif.
	     Dull, perhaps; or practical... .
