Hmm..this should only be a problem if you were trying to build on a machine which isn't actually a k6-2. I've not had any problems with gcc optimizing for k6 machines (CPUTYPE=3Dk6-2 is the same as CPUTYPE=3Dk6 as far as gcc goes), though I've not done so for a few weeks.
